“The kinds of art that put change into motion and empowers the next generation of dancers”

“Born to Manifest is a song for male vulnerability, sensitivity, and the power of kinship”

Katie Hagan. – Dance Art Journal

‘Born to Manifest’ is a powerful new Hip – Hop dance double bill that illuminates the experience of young black British men.

Joseph Toonga draws from real life accounts to a create a poignant, responsive piece that simultaneously champions cultural identity and challenges racial stigmas. Joseph Toonga’s Born to Manifest is an extraordinary piece of work.

An uncompromising work; a bald statement of fact that left some of us feeling ashamed and with nowhere to hide
